By booking or participating in a paranormal investigation at the Sandusky Merry-Go-Round Museum, all participants acknowledge and agree to the following terms and conditions:
1. Age Requirement All participants must be 18 years of age or older at the time of the investigation. No minors are permitted to participate, attend, or accompany a group during a paranormal investigation.
2. Assumption of Risk Participation in a paranormal investigation is voluntary and involves inherent risks. These may include, but are not limited to, uneven floors, stairs, low lighting, confined or restricted areas, obstacles, slips, trips, falls, dust, temperature changes, and other conditions associated with an historic building.
Each participant voluntarily assumes all risks associated with participation and agrees to exercise reasonable care and follow all instructions provided by museum staff.
3. Restricted Areas Participants may be granted access to areas of the museum that are normally closed or restricted to the general public. Access is permitted only in areas specifically designated by museum staff. Participants may not enter any area marked as restricted, locked, closed, or otherwise prohibited without express permission.
4. Personal Responsibility Participants are responsible for their own safety and personal belongings throughout the event. Participants agree to follow all museum rules, staff instructions, posted warnings, and safety requirements. Failure to follow these requirements may result in immediate removal from the premises without refund.
5. Paranormal Activity Disclaimer The Sandusky Merry-Go-Round Museum makes no representation, warranty, or guarantee that participants will experience, observe, hear, record, or otherwise encounter paranormal activity, supernatural phenomena, ghosts, spirits, or other unexplained events.
Reports of paranormal activity are based on historical accounts, personal experiences, and reports from previous visitors and investigators. Such reports should not be interpreted as a guarantee that paranormal activity will occur during any particular investigation.
6. Entertainment Purposes The paranormal investigation experience is provided for entertainment, recreational, and historical purposes only. The museum does not represent that ghosts, spirits, or other paranormal phenomena objectively exist or that any reported activity has been scientifically verified.
Any sounds, images, environmental conditions, equipment readings, or other experiences encountered during an investigation may have natural, environmental, mechanical, or otherwise explainable causes.
7. Conduct Participants must conduct themselves in a safe and respectful manner and must not damage, touch, move, remove, or otherwise interfere with museum exhibits, carousel components, artifacts, equipment, or property unless specifically authorized by museum staff. Harassment, threatening behavior, vandalism, theft, excessive intoxication, or unsafe behavior will not be tolerated and may result in immediate removal without refund.
8. Alcohol and Controlled Substances Participants may not bring or consume illegal drugs or controlled substances on museum property. Alcohol consumption is permitted only if specifically authorized by the museum and must comply with all applicable laws and museum requirements. Anyone appearing intoxicated or impaired may be denied participation or removed from the premises.
9. Personal Property The museum is not responsible for lost, stolen, damaged, or misplaced personal property. Participants are responsible for securing their own belongings and investigation equipment.
10. Release and Waiver To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, each participant agrees to release and hold harmless the Sandusky Merry-Go-Round Museum, its owners, operators, directors, officers, employees, volunteers, agents, representatives, and affiliates from claims arising from participation in the paranormal investigation, except to the extent such claims cannot legally be waived or released.
11. Right to Refuse or Terminate Participation The museum reserves the right to refuse participation or terminate an investigation at any time when necessary for safety, security, property protection, rule violations, emergencies, or other legitimate operational reasons. No refund will be provided for participants removed due to violation of these policies.
12. Acknowledgment By completing a booking or participating in a paranormal investigation, each participant acknowledges that they have read, understood, and voluntarily agree to these policies and understand that participation is at their own risk.
